My tips to lose weight:

Disclaimer:

I’m NOT an expert at all, but I’m sharing the little I know with you all(: I hope it comes of use to you.

Losing weight is different for everybody. Some people will show results faster, some will not, but if you acquire patience and stick to it as long as necessary you WILL see results!

First off, you must watch what you eat and if you would like use a nifty website like:

http://www.myfitnesspal.com! Sign up, it’s a great website and helps you keep track of your calorie intake etc. Watch your portions as well. For example, instead of two scrambled eggs have one only. I suggest eating 3 meals a day and if you want you can add in a small snack in between. For dinner, I eat lighter my largest meal being lunch. For dinner I usually eat 2-3 medium sized fruits or eat a fruit cocktail.

I try to average about anywhere from 600-1200 calories daily. I highly suggest counting your calories to make sure you are on the right track.

Incorporate tons of vegetables and fruits in your diet. I cannot stress enough how significant that is to your success. Don’t forget  your protein though. Your body needs it and I eat at least one good source of protein a day. Try to boil, broil/pan-cook, grill or roast all your meats and look for lean meats with less fat on them. You can’t completely rid your body of fat though.

There are both good fats and bad fats. The good fats are things like extra-virgin olive oil, olive oil, flaxseed oil, raw buts like almonds, pecans, pistachios, walnuts, macadamias and hazelnuts, fish oil, neptune krill oil, organic extra virgin coconut oil.  Coconut oil is an MCT, medium chain triglyceride that are basically fats that burn fat and give you a boost of energy. Try though to not eat TOO many nuts for they contain quite a bit of calories. What I use to cook my meals with is something simple and not so fancy, no stick olive oil cooking spray and the extra virgin olive oil.

Eliminate foods that contain more than one ingredient, which means you’ll be eating more things like fruits, vegetables and different kind of meats and you’ll be eating less dipping sauces, ranch, barbecue, mayo etc. One condiment I do not rid of my diet, but one that I hardly ever use is mustard. It’s said to help digestion and speed your metabolism as well and is a good source of omega-3 fatty acids.

Also try to get rid of flours in your diet, they contain many carbohydrates. Sugar as well. You can have up to three packs of synthetic, 0 calories sugar a day, but limit yourself. I also suggest buying a 100%  whole wheat bread. Try 2% milk as well or anything else that has less fat in it like skim milk.

As for cereal, eat brands like Special K, All-Bran, Fitness and original Kellog’s. Look on the nutritional facts to see the serving size for both the cereal and your milk. I highly suggest measuring it out to make sure you’re eating the right amount.

This may also be difficult but COMPLETELY wipe out soft drinks or any other sugary drink from your diet. They contain far too many chemicals and are just plain bad for your body. Drink water, water, water. This is very important to stay hydrated and keep yourself full when you are hungry. Drink green tea. Studies show that it increases your metabolic rate and aside from that it’s your daily dose of antioxidants! You can also drink natural fruit juices like orange juice, grapefruit juice and pineapple juice. Although your main beverage out of fruit juices, teas and low fat milk should always be water. Do your best to drink 6-8 cups of water a day, not including the water for your tea.

And last but definitely not least, EXERCISE. It is crucial to your weight loss, really. Do the best you can to be more active. Take a daily stroll around your park, clean your room or different rooms of your house, not only will you be burning calories but you will get some points with your parents. Go for a light jog or a vigorous run, do some sit ups, crunches, leg lifts, jumping jacks. Go play catch with your dog, walk him. In class suggest to take papers up for people, go the long way to places. Lift weights that way once you’ve lost weight your body will have nice definition. If you’re not in shape at all start by doing 10 minutes of vigorous exercise and slowly increase the amount of time until you’re anywhere from 30-45. If you would like to more, you can! It is entirely up to you. But really, just BE AS ACTIVE AS POSSIBLE.

Stay strong. This isn’t an easy journey, but I believe in you.
